Clean Fallen Leaves and Debris

Autumn is a beautiful time of the year, but the number one thing everyone hates about this season is having to rake up the leaves. While your artificial lawn provides a durable surface for all seasons, fallen leaves tend to trap moisture underneath them, creating the perfect environment for mildew and mould to grow. So, make sure you do a little cleaning. This also ensures your grass retains its vibrant appearance!

If you have a leaf blower, this can be a fun and easy way to remove fallen leaves and other debris. Make sure you take your time around shrubs and trees, as these are usually the messiest areas during autumn. If you’re fresh out of leaf blowers, a plastic rake and a little elbow grease will do. However, avoid metal rakes, as this can damage your grass fibres.

Brush and Fluff Your Grass

Who doesn’t love soft, beautiful grass, especially during the cooler months like autumn? One of the many reasons homeowners love artificial grass products is because of its consistent appearance. While your grass will remain stunning throughout the year, you will need to give it a little TLC once in a while.

Grab a stiff broom and fluff up the blades by brushing against the direction your artificial grass is lying in. This will help lift your grass fibres into a more upright position. Clean Spills and Stains

You may want to spend more time outside, enjoying the last rays of sunshine before winter. When there’s more activity on your lawn, accidents can happen, but there’s no need to worry! Whether it’s a wine stain or grease and oil from your recent barbeque, you must tackle these stains or spills immediately to prevent them from seeping into the material of your synthetic grass.

Use a paper towel or dry cloth to blot the spill or stain immediately. However, try and avoid rubbing the spill as you might spread the stain.
You’ll then want to take your garden hose and flush out any remaining residue. Tackle stubborn stains with a vinegar solution (equal parts water and vinegar) or use our Concentrate Cleaner for a deep clean.
