Society of Garden Designer award 2018 sponsored by Easigrass
Easigrass proudly sponsored a leading category in the Society of Garden Designers (SGD) Garden Design Awards, which recognise and showcase the best professional British garden creations. Winners of the SGD sixth annual awards were announced in front of nearly 400 guests from the garden design world during a ceremony at the Landmark Hotel in London on 2 February.
Easigrass once again sponsored the Healing or Learning Garden category, which was won by Ann-Marie Powell Gardens for a woodland walk installation designed for the Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice in Sussex. Ann-Marie Powell worked together with children’s charity Greenfingers, to transform an area of wet woodland adjacent to the main hospice building into a safe, fun, year-round interactive garden.
The wheelchair accessible design is based around a looping pathway and includes exciting features such as moon gateways, a picnic area, circular lawns, bug zones and wildlife viewing platform.
The SGD panel of independent experts, including designers, academics, journalists and horticultural professionals, said: “An absolutely fantastic garden that demonstrates amazing value for money. Gentle, soft and magical, it has been sensitively and creatively designed so that it sits naturally within its woodland setting. This is a role-model garden that children in particular will love.”
Proud to once again to be a sponsor of this important category, Easigrass managing director Anthony Gallagher said the award recognised the important work that goes into creating much-needed outdoor spaces that improve and help people’s lives.
